Game One (Prem Game)

Under flood lights, in the magnificent Clifton pool, the AGS premier team swam off against an intimidating club side. The opposition was made of three national level players, some big men with more than a couple of tats, and some fearless women. We were scared just watching.
This game didn't go quite so well to plan.
However, James will be happy with the effort and commitment. Eight minute quarters leave a lot of time for a lot of game and he used that to try different combinations and let the boys get back to playing, after what have been some seriously tough training sessions.
Captain Harry and his band of men went down 11:4 against a bigger, older and more experienced side (made up of 15 players!) Goals were scored by Lachie (2), Henry "The Chest" and Ben. Harry showed himself once again to be a fabulous goalie. Everybody got out there and gave their first game a good crack. And they had fun.

Now, they are off to be billeted by their host families, and experience some South African family hospitality.

Ben Skeen managed to thoroughly enjoy the occasion, from the comfort of the poolside bar. However, he seemed to remain mystified. "Where were the horses?"
